Dunedin Enterprise Investment Trust PLC (“The Trust”) is managed by Dunedin LLP (“Dunedin”), a leading UK lower mid-market private equity firm. Dunedin provides equity finance for management buyouts and management buyins with a transaction size of approximately £20m to £100m.

People

Dunedin is an independent private equity house, owned by its Partners. The four partners have worked together for more than ten years, giving it an unrivalled depth of experience focussed purely on the UK lower mid-market buyout market. In 1996 the Dunedin team completed its own management buyout.

Investment focus

Dunedin targets buyout investments where it can partner with management teams to build better businesses. Dunedin provides the knowledge, skills and finance to help the companies it backs to develop and attain their full potential.

Dunedin focuses on backing UK SMEs which it believes have great growth potential and seeks to add value to investments through organic growth, buy and build, roll-out or international growth strategies. Dunedin has a dedicated in-house origination team which identifies and researches acquisition targets for its portfolio companies.

Sector focus

Dunedin focuses on a number of sectors, using its depth of knowledge to understand the market drivers and to build relationships with management teams, key industry participants and influencers. The firm has enjoyed particular success in the industrial, business services and financial services sectors.

Funds

In addition to the Trust, Dunedin manages a European fund of funds and two limited partnership funds. The Trust has committed £60m (20%) to Dunedin’s latest £300m fund, Dunedin Buyout Fund III.
