9th November 2009
Leading mid-market private equity house, Dunedin, was last night named the "Small Buyout House of the Year" at the prestigious unquote" British Private Equity Awards 2009. The Small Buyout category acknowledges clear leadership in the UK lower mid-market. It is one of four awards that Dunedin has won this year. Runners up were Inflexion Private Equity and Sovereign Capital.

Other award wins for Dunedin include 'Growth Capital and Buyout deal of the Year Award' for its investment in Gardner Group, at the BVCA Private Equity Awards in April. Also two of Dunedin's investee companies were recently recognised at the BVCA CEO Awards in September – WFEL for its international impact and etc.venues for its corporate and environmental practices.

Ross Marshall, Chief Executive of Dunedin, commented: "It’s been a tough year for the industry as a whole but over the last 18 months Dunedin has weathered the storm well. We’ve plenty of firepower with 75 per cent of a £250 million fund to invest. In the last year we have made one new investment and had two successful exits. We are very pleased to have completed three important transactions in the current market and look forward confidently to a busy 2010."

"This prestigious award is testament to our team’s ability to get deals done and our strong investment record."

The unquote" Awards, which took place at Lord’s Cricket Ground on 5 November 2009, identify the very best achievements of individuals and firms working within venture capital and private equity in the UK.
